A new market ahead: international language services company Noraktrad has just formed a joint venture with Mediamixx, a German-Dutch communications agency. “Our collaboration aims to develop the translation market in the Netherlands, where we see great potential as specialists in complex translations," explains Stephan Oeller, Managing Director of Noraktrad. The partners are operating under the name “Norak Vertaalservice, powered by Mediamixx”.
Since 1994, Mediamixx has specialised in communication consultancy for Dutch and German clients as they develop their business activities in the respective neighbouring country. The agency, based in Kleve, has 14 members of staff from the two countries. Noraktrad, a translation agency based in Madrid, has also been operating in the global translation market since 1994. Specialised translations, such as technical documentation, contracts and patents, are one of its many strengths. The Spanish company has a database of 4,000 specialists, covering almost every possible language combination. Its nearly 50 employees ensure that all workflows run perfectly smoothly.
“Over the last 23 years we have built up an extensive network of clients and partners in the Netherlands, and we are experts in German-Dutch collaboration. In this time, Noraktrad has perfected its services, obtaining numerous certifications and working with many world leading firms, such as Siemens and Lufthansa. On average, Noraktrad translates more than five million words a month. Building on this, we will contribute our contacts and market knowledge, while Noraktrad will provide its language skills and management experience”, added Frank Wöbbeking, CEO of Mediamixx. This new service will be of great interest to many Mediamixx clients. Some of them are already benefitting from the cooperation between the two partners.
The contact between these companies is the result of the efforts of Norak’s German sales representative, Jörg Guderjahn, who has been living in the Lower Rhine region of Germany for several years. Initially, the companies worked together under an informal arrangement, with very positive results over the course of two years. “We have seen that we are in tune with each other and can work together to achieve excellent results. That’s why we have decided to set up this joint venture”, says Stephan Oeller. Noraktrad already has several offices in Europe, Australia, China and the United States.
